Runtime mode is where the component interactions on the breadboard are simulated using run, step and step over functions.
Breadboards cannot be edited in run time mode, but the execution of the simulation can be controlled from the toolbar, or relevant menu actions. The status bar at the bottom of Virtual Breadboard provides information about the currently executing simulation. In run time mode, you can control the execution of the simulation, stepping through the execution one machine cycle at a time.
If a simulation includes microcontrollers running executable code, more information about the state of the microcontrollers is available in run time mode.
